S2 Ep12 - Cultivation of Tobacco, Lost Respect from Subordinates

01 Jul 2023 - This episode delves into the cultivation journey of a cigar, which begins with a seed. The cigar's journey starts as a seed, which is then nurtured into a seedling before being transferred to fields. The farming process is carefully attended to until it is time for harvest. The cultivation process includes fermentation, sorting, and drying. It's important to understand that it takes around 300 pairs of hands to create a single cigar.

In this episode, the hosts both smoke the same cigar, the Diamond Crown Julius Caesar. They discover that this cigar is known for its especially flavorful Ecuadorian Havana-seed wrappers, combined with a smooth and robust blend of fine Dominican binder, select Dominican and Central American filler tobaccos, all carefully aged for five years. This aging process gives Julius Caesar its bold, rich, and distinctive flavor.

The cornerstone of leadership discussed in this episode is respect. Leaders earn respect over time, and while their position may help, genuine respect is something that must be earned. When a subordinate loses respect for their leader, there are steps a leader can take to prevent or rebuild that level of respect.
