S2 Ep14 - Cigar boxes, Competition vs Collaboration

01 Aug 2023 - In this episode, the two hosts discuss the packaging of cigars and highlight the often-underappreciated artistic approach taken in designing cigar boxes. The storage vessels for cigars can range from eye-catching and decorative to simple, plain beige cubes. For this episode, the hosts selected cigars from a box to enjoy.

Austin chose a Maduro by Kristoff, which is well-balanced, flavorful, and smooth, making it a highly enjoyable cigar. Dice, on the other hand, picked up a Kristoff Guardrail. The Guardrail has an interesting backstory involving Glen Chase's motorcycle accident where he hit a guardrail. This incident served as a significant inspiration for the cigar, which was almost named "Guardian Angel" but ultimately got its name, "Guardrail," which Dice is smoking during this episode.

The cigar industry is both competitive and collaborative. Collaboration and competition represent two distinct approaches that can be applied in various contexts, such as personal relationships, business environments, or societal dynamics. Each approach has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the choice between collaboration and competition depends on specific circumstances and goals.

It's important to note that neither collaboration nor competition is inherently good or bad. Both approaches have their merits and drawbacks. In many cases, a balanced approach that incorporates elements of both collaboration and competition can lead to the best outcomes, as it allows for cooperation while still encouraging individual growth and achievement.
